Impact Achieved in the field
Centenary Foundation is the Social Development and Sustainability arm of the Centenary Group, dedicated to transforming lives across Uganda through education, health, and environmental sustainability.
We work to reduce poverty, build skills, promote health, and advance environmental stewardship by collaborating with government, private sector, and development partners. Our programs are aligned with Uganda’s National Development Plan and the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), with a focus on poverty reduction, quality education, clean energy, and climate action.
Through strategic partnerships with the Infectious Diseases Institute (IDI), Baylor Uganda, and local governments in Kampala, Wakiso, and Fort Portal (Kabarole District), Centenary Foundation implements the Socio-Economic and Enterprise Development (SEED) Project under the DREAMS initiative (Determined, Resilient, Empowered, AIDS-Free, Mentored, and Safe).
The SEED program economically empowers vulnerable adolescent girls and young women (AGYW) aged 16–24 using an evidence-based HIV risk and vulnerability screening process. Participants are enrolled in Safe Spaces where they receive training in entrepreneurship, financial literacy, vocational skills, and business mentorship.
This holistic approach enables young women to generate income, support their families, and reduce their vulnerability to HIV—creating lasting impact for individuals, families, and communities.
Our work currently reaches communities across Kampala, Wakiso, Fort Portal City, and Kabarole District. Read more
